Fabrics 101

Lengthwise Grain runs along the length (yardage) of the fabric. Runs parallel to selvedge. Crosswise Grain runs along the width of the fabric. Runs perpendicular to selvedge. Bias runs along a 45 degree diagonal angle to the grain, and is usually a bit stretchy.
